WHO WE ARE

We are cannabis aficionados and have been for some time. We are Alco and Willi Galosh.

Before we tell you more about this endeavor and our background, we should respond to the questions we usually get about our names. Our dad was from the Ottawa Valley which straddles Ontario and Quebec, and he brought the delightful surname of Galosh to the table. Our mom has a background from the U.K. and had her heart set on naming us after her dad and grandfather – Malcolm and Willard. Neither of these names were very popular in elementary school so parts were dropped to make them Alco and Willi. Still pretty out-there names but an improvement. The surname has been both a burden and a joy at times, especially when we are together, and people have a good chuckle and seem to think it is the first time we have been referred to as “a pair of Galoshes”.

Many years ago, we discovered that we had very few skills other than partying and roofing. When we first fell out of high school, we set up and ran for many years a little roofing company in Ottawa called ROOFER MADNESS. Then we got it in our heads that we should go to a bigger market and moved to Scarborough. For those who don’t know it, Scarborough is a neighbourhood in Toronto. Today people know it as the place where The Weeknd, Lilly Singh and other trendy creatures grew up but we identify it more with one of its first celebrities- Mike Myers.

We would take on easy roofing jobs, bungalows with almost flat rooflines mainly, and for some time had a pretty good life going. Then in February of 2020 Willi fell off a roof that was much higher than the ones we usually take on. He was a bit stoned at the time of course, and fell on the table we set up for munchies and  music. He really messed up the table, the food, the music and his back.

Fortunately, the Canadian Government stepped in just after that with the income replacement programs for people unemployed because of Covid and we could spend some time determining what our next venture would be.

Willi’s back is now much better, and he can move around alright  but it will never be up to what is needed to do roofing again.

What we came up with  as a replacement for ROOFER MADNESS, is a business relating to a field  we know something about – marijuana.

You can read the details in the ABOUT section. We are currently working with some advisors to get things off the ground.

ABOUT JOINT CUSTODY WEED FOSTERING

BACKGROUND

In Canada’s fairly new world of legalized marijuana sales there are three ways to produce and consume cannabis legally. The first is to be a licensed producer. Given the long-term potential there are a number of big players in the large scale production and retail distribution of the product. There has been a real shake out over the last year as various companies got ahead of themselves, but the large production companies are now all finding their rhythm.

The second category is for the medical production of the product and that is also a highly regulated business.

But the legislation that permitted the legalization also allow for each household to grow up to four plants at home for their personal consumption. Many of us are prepared to grow our own four plants and then do the associated drying and modifying to get an acceptable product to smoke. But many more are not interested in the messy middle part. That’s where we come in.

HOW IT WORKS

We supply you with four plant seedlings for your household for free. We are gearing up to sell growing kits and lights

Seedlings For Fostering

and growing material as well but you don’t have to buy those from us if you already have gear or just want to buy that elsewhere.

The four plants are not for your ultimate consumption but for you to foster until they get to a stage where they are getting close to a point when they can be harvested. You get a guide with the four plants on their care and nurturing.

We pick up those mature plants and give you four more seedlings.

Each time we drop off / pick up you receive credits (Doobie Dollars) to be used at a conventional cannabis retail store.

So you foster these plants until grown, we get them to the processors and give you a credit. You can use those credits on anything in the store – equipment, gummies, weed etc.

We are currently at the stage of dealing with the financiers, regulators, lawyers, tax accountants etc. and are taking registrations to show our finance guys that there is a market for our service. It is not a crowd sourcing funding model as we are not asking you to put in any money, just to indicate your interest in this service.

Once we get up and rolling, we will contact you to confirm that we have all the necessary approvals, and you will then have the chance to participate if you choose.
